Buddy Gator: A Warm and Sweet Alligator in 11 New Comics

We @9MoodOfficial had a small interview discussion with Artist and Illustrator @Chow Hon Lam, Who hopes his work can bring some smiles to the world. Chow had the opportunity to create works for some high-profile clients including NIKE, REEBOK, HarperCollins, Google x Tenor, AirAsia Airlines, WeChat, Lotus F1, MARTELL VSOP, and Dave Matthews Band. He loves food and movies a lot.

We asked some questions, which can be helpful to newbie artists or those who want some motivation and inspiration for their artwork ideas.

What are the basic things needed for your project/art work?

A character design, most of my work art start with some character to help me to tell the story. Just imagine about the character you want to put in your comics, and it make it hilarious.

Mention some tips for your art pieces/ comic creation to the newbie artists.

I am trying to send a positive vibes through my creations, I hope my art can bring some smiles to all the faces. The world now needs more smiles.

Before starting your work, what are the things you care about?

I used to do a lot of research on my projects and artwork, to make the idea and execution more solid, and without a mistake.

What are your new thoughts on your next upcoming art work?

I have a plans to create toys for my comic characters soon.

How were you inspired for your work?

I usually get the inspiration from things that happen around me day by day life. Looking at the social network posts from my friends is the fastest way to be inspired.

How have you been developed your career with your art work?

The Internet is very important for us now, the fastest and easier way to get more people know about our art. Same as other artists are doing now, we usually start with a personal work to post in social networks to get more exposure. Slowly from here we can have our own followers, and clients.
